Cheers:
Cheers to the Rotary Club of Estevan for hosting another entertaining Christmas Carol
Festival. The singers and instrumentalists sounded great.
Cheers to the members of the Lampman Community Theatre who performed Ladies Night at the Legion. It was great to see those talents on display.
Cheers to the Estevan Sharks water polo club for the great job they did at provincials during the weekend.
Cheers to Hillcrest School for organizing this year’s Christmas Store, and teaching young people about the value of gift giving.
Cheers to the Estevan Police Service and the Estevan Fire Rescue Service for having their emergency vehicles at the Canadian Tire to support the Angel Tree program.
Jeers:
Jeers to an elderly gentleman who is a hazard on the road. He has been seen driving 10 kilometres per hour in the city and 45 kilometres per hour on Highway 47 north of the community on numerous occasions.
Jeers to the person who criticized the decision to rename Alameda Dam after Grant Devine. Without Grant Devine, you wouldn’t have Alameda Dam, Rafferty Dam or the Shand Power Station.
Jeers to the constant delay of the final decision on the Civic Auditorium. So many people have enjoyed it in this community for such a long time.
Jeers to whoever was responsible for the thefts at industrial properties in the Estevan area during the past couple of weeks.
Jeers to people who have been driving through the parking lot of the new Estevan fire hall. It’s not a through road for you to get from Souris Avenue North to 13th Avenue.
