Cheers:
Cheers to three young gentlemen who helped a local woman by carrying her piano, stand and music down to Granby's on Dec. 7. It was truly appreciated.
Cheers to the excellent customer service at a local business regarding an item bought from another store. That service will allow someone to be happy on Christmas morning.
Cheers to the two young men from the Wylie-Mitchell Air Cadets who were playing guitars at the Southern Plains Co-op on Dec. 10 while they were volunteering at the kettles.
Cheers to the police officers who performed check stops in Estevan over the weekend. They braved the cold to find impaired drivers. Giving out candy canes to sober drivers was also a good idea.
Cheers to the Lampman Community Theatre for putting on an entertaining show, Snow Stormed at the Legion. It’s great that they raised money for the town’s Legion, too.
Jeers:
Jeers to grader operators who don’t know their blade turns to the left, and who go down the wrong side of the street. Also, the snow blower should be right behind them.
Jeers to landlords who rip off people’s damage deposits.
Jeers to those who have been heading to other communities to do the bulk of their Christmas shopping. There are plenty of options in the Estevan area for them to shop locally.
Jeers to those who were entering vehicles in Estevan on Dec. 11. Even when it’s very cold outside, some people still feel the need to walk from vehicle to vehicle and take other people’s possessions.
Jeers to those who continue to commit thefts and frauds involving credit cards. It leads to a significant amount of distrust among people.
