Cheers:
Cheers to everyone who donated to the Angel Tree program this year. There will be some happy kids on Christmas Day this year thanks to their efforts.
Cheers to those at Woodlawn Regional Park for the great work they did to make Christmas in the Park and the Festival of Lights a great success. The park looks great.
Cheers to the member of the air cadets who was playing Christmas music on her harp while manning the Salvation Army kettles at the Southern Plains Co-op on Dec. 16. It was beautiful.
Cheers to Lampman residents who raised funds and decorated the Lampman Community Health Centre and its surroundings with numerous lights to bring Christmas cheer to the residents. Everything looks great.
Cheers to the CP Rail Holiday Train that stopped in Estevan. Terri Clark and Dallas Smith were absolutely incredible, and the weather was great as well.
Jeers:
Jeers to the proposed infrastructure levy increase in this year’s city budget. The extra $10 per billing cycle will add up after a while.
Jeers to the city’s decision to reopen the Civic, pending the insurance report. It’s time to move on from the old arena, and go with just two rinks.
Jeers to those who block people’s driveways when they park. If they think it’s such an acceptable idea, then nobody will complain if someone parks in front of their driveway.
Jeers to motorists illegally park in handicapped stalls on Fourth Street or close to other businesses. With all of the people out shopping this month, it’s important to keep those handicapped stalls open.
Jeers to those who have gone outside of the city for their Christmas shopping. It’s important to shop locally at this time of year.
