Cheers and Jeers for Dec. 30

Cheers: Cheers to the man who offered to carry an extremely heavy package from the post office at Sobey’s to a vehicle in the Estevan Shoppers Mall’s parking lot.

Cheers:

Cheers to the man who offered to carry an extremely heavy package from the post office at Sobey’s to a vehicle in the Estevan Shoppers Mall’s parking lot.

Cheers to the individual who bought a coffee at the McDonalds drive thru one morning in an act of paying it forward. Actions like that restore faith in the kindness of strangers.

Cheers to a couple of the Estevan Salvation Army’s volunteers. There was a young person and her mom at the Southern Plains Co-op on the evening of Dec. 19, singing and dancing while collecting donations.

Cheers to the boys in their hockey jerseys who helped out at the Salvation Army by shoveling the walkway on Dec. 20.

Cheers to those who spent their Christmas and Boxing Day clearing roads, sidewalks, parking lots and highways.

Jeers:

Jeers to a female cab driver who verbally abused a female employee at the A&W restaurant recently. Hopefully A&W management has a policy that any abuse of their employees will not be tolerated.

Jeers to the person who complained about city’s street cleanup in the December 16 edition of Lifestyles. If they would have put their name to the jeer, they would have had a lot of people to explain to.

Jeers to any businesses in town that don’t remove snow from the fire exits for their buildings.

Jeers to those who decided to create challenges for the snow removal crews by unnecessarily leaving their vehicles parked in the street, or driving when they didn’t have to.

Jeers to those who didn’t drive safely according to the road conditions, got stuck and therefore created even more work for the snow clearing crews.
