Cheers:
Cheers to the Estevan Comprehensive School’s performance of School of Rock. It was a great display of acting and singing. The students and teachers and everyone involved should be very proud.
Cheers to Doug Third, who has done 1,000 funeral and/or prayer services in the Estevan area and has done a beautiful job.
Cheers to all of the people who have been volunteering with the Estevan Salvation Army by ringing bells for the kettle campaign.
Cheers to the organizers of the Dickens Village Festival in Carlyle. They always do a great job of decorating the town and having activities for people to do.
Cheers to the members of the Southeast Chorus and the Northwest Chorus for the entertaining celebration of Christmas music this year. They sounded great once again.
Jeers:
Jeers to the woman who bought every area rug on sale at a local store, and left none for anyone else. How greedy.
Jeers to the person who dumped a bag of cat poop on the hood of a local person’s car.
Jeers to the provincial government for not giving the green light for the new Estevan Regional Nursing Home. This city has raised more than $8 million for the project, and there is a definite need for a new facility. Time to get it done.
Jeers to the high rental rates that some landlords continue to offer in town. If the rent was lower, then maybe the vacancy rate wouldn’t be as high as it is.
Jeers to the people who complain about check stops and tougher laws for impaired driving. If some people didn’t drive drunk, then these wouldn’t be necessary.
