Cheers:
Cheers to the fellow who helped clear snow from the walkway and sidewalk at the Lamoine Apartments. The staff and residents greatly appreciate the help.
Cheers to the city crews who clear the pathways at Royal Heights Veterans’ Memorial Park throughout the winter, so that pedestrians can enjoy the beautiful park, even in the winter.
Cheers to Blue Rodeo for bringing such a great concert to Estevan. It was a really enjoyable evening.
Cheers to all the young people who were out enjoying the nice weather on Sunday. It’s good that they’re out tobogganing or skating instead of sitting in front of a screen.
Cheers to the Estevan Fire Rescue Service getting a different location for its fire hall. It makes more sense to buy an existing building, than to build something new.
Jeers:
Jeers to all the people living along rural municipal roads who push snow from their private lane and leave it piled up along the municipal road. They are creating a danger to everyone else.
Jeers to the lack of a heart specialist in Estevan. It’s a service we could really use.
Jeers to the Saskatchewan Roughriders for trading Darian Durant. Looks like it’s going to be another five-win season.
Jeers to those who are opposed to the medicinal marijuana greenhouse in the Rural Municipality of Estevan. They don’t seem to understand how medicinal marijuana is different.
Jeers to those who grumble about property tax and utility rate increases, but don’t voice their concerns directly with city council or city management.
