Cheers and Jeers for Jan. 27

Cheers: Cheers to the woman who bought a person’s breakfast for him at McDonald’s, after he allowed her to go ahead of him in the drive through. Cheers to everyone who was involved with the Robbie Burns Night in Estevan on the weekend.

Cheers to the woman who bought a person’s breakfast for him at McDonald’s, after he allowed her to go ahead of him in the drive through.

Cheers to everyone who was involved with the Robbie Burns Night in Estevan on the weekend. The music and the dancing were great, and the haggis was delicious.

Cheers to the Estevan Snowmobile Club for organizing the poker derby on Saturday. It’s good to see that there is enough snow on the ground for events like this to happen.

Cheers to Power Dodge Estevan Bruins forward Matt McNeil for scoring four goals against the Humboldt Broncos last week, which meant a lot of people won free pizza from the Tower Café.

Cheers to the approval of the Keystone XL Pipeline. Finally, it’s going to proceed. At least President Trump got this one right.

Jeers:

Jeers to everyone who runs red lights. The intersection at 13th Avenue and King Street is especially bad for this practice.

Jeers to the ignorant shoppers who fail to return their shopping carts or put them in the cart corrals. Those shopping carts cause damage to vehicles.

Jeers to the latest people arrested for impaired driving in Estevan. Looks like they aren’t worried about tougher punishments from the province.

Jeers to the motorist who fled the scene of an accident last week in northeast Estevan. Hopefully the police find the motorist and charge him accordingly.

Jeers to the proposed increase in cemetery rates. It would be better if they increase slightly each year, rather than having a larger increase every few years.
