Cheers:
Cheers to the Estevan Police Service for their traffic enforcement. Keep picking up impaired drivers and keep stopping speeders.
Cheers to the RCMP presence at the Lampman Sports Weekend. Their presence kept the roads safe, and likely discouraged people from drinking and driving.
Cheers to the Souris Valley Museum for organizing the Heritage Day for school kids last week. The young people had fun at the old-fashioned activities.
Cheers to the students and the staff from the Estevan Comprehensive School who were part of this year’s Improv Games. It’s a great event each year.
Cheers to the Rotary Club of Estevan for organizing their annual Lobsterfest. The food was great and it is always a fun time.
Jeers:
Jeers to baseball coaches who feel the need to yell at youth umpires. These kids are doing their best out there.
Jeers to motorists who drive into other people's vehicles and leave without taking responsibility for the accident. How selfish and cowardly.
Jeers to listening to people with loud potty mouths talking on cell phones in public places.
Jeers to the curves on King Street near Bannatyne Avenue. The way in which the traffic lines are painted will be a real problem in the winter.
Jeers to the people who complained about the rain this week. The farmers really needed the moisture for their crops, and many communities in the southeast region were becoming dusty and dry.
