Cheers and Jeers for March 17

Cheers: Cheers to Isaac Embree of the Power Dodge Estevan Bruins for loaning his helmet to a student from Sacred Heart School, so he could participate in their afternoon skate.

Cheers to Isaac Embree of the Power Dodge Estevan Bruins for loaning his helmet to a student from Sacred Heart School, so he could participate in their afternoon skate.

Cheers to three people for helping a stranded motorist get their car out of a snow bank.  Good Samaritans like them add to the quality of life in Estevan.

Cheers to the group of young people who saw a motorist stuck by Tundra Energy Marketing Ltd. in the March 6 storm and came to his rescue.

Cheers to the Estevan Community Garden for organizing the Seedy Sunday event. It’s always great to get more ideas for a garden.

Cheers to Pick Farms for winning the Farm Family of the Year Award. They have done so much for their farm and for the community.

Jeers:

Jeers to the lack of sand on slippery intersections in the city. It leads to accidents and people sliding off roads into snow drifts.

Jeers to comments about the huge loss for the Blue Rodeo concert. Many people's income has been drastically affected by the downturn in the economy, and they can’t afford concerts.

Jeers to the 60 kilometre per hour speed trap on Highway 47 north to the new truck bypass. It is like printing money.

Jeers to the board members of organizations who don’t attend events hosted by those organizations. How do they justify their position on the boards?

Jeers to those who have committed sexual assaults in our community. It’s another reason that some people feel paranoid.
