Cheers:
Cheers to the Estevan Police Service for wanting to seize vehicles of drunk drivers. Get them off the road.
Cheers to the Royal Canadian Legion’s Estevan branch for the event they hosted on Saturday night. The meal and entertainment were excellent.
Cheers to Sam Macdonald for his Sam's Soapbox column in last week’s Lifestyles. He hit the nail on the head. The “passionate hypocrites” protesting the Dakota Access Pipeline are definitely not concerned about the land.
Cheers to the people who use the zipper merge when leaving Power Dodge Estevan Bruins games. It makes for smooth moving traffic and allows everyone to get home in a timely manner.
Cheers to the Estevan Kinettes Club for holding the Day of Kindness on Saturday. So many people enjoyed receiving a free rose or another gift.
Jeers:
Jeers to local businesses that are not open according to the hours advertised on their doors.
Jeers to whoever moved the rubbing stone from Rafferty Dam area to Roche Percee. This is part of history and it should be returned to its previous location.
Jeers to the garbage that falls off of garbage trucks and winds up as debris in ditches. Every week there is trash all over the place.
Jeers to the Bruins for playing down to the level of the bottom teams in the standings and even losing to them. You can't win them all but they better step up their play if they want to go far in the playoffs.
Jeers to the increase in water consumption rates in Estevan. People will either see their water bills go up, or they will reduce their usage, and we’ll have more brown grass in the summer.
