Cheers to the arrival of a new doctor in Estevan. Now we just need a few more to come to the community (while not losing any).
Cheers to the TS&M Woodlawn Golf Club for bringing the Maple Leaf Junior Tour to Estevan. There are some very good golfers on the course on the weekend.
Cheers to Southeast Newcomer Services for bringing back the International Kitchen. It’s a source for some great recipes.
Cheers to the Estevan Comprehensive School’s track and field program for hosting the district meet. Good luck to those who advance to the next stage.
Cheers to the students at Southeast College who have been working hard to further their education. Those scholarships last week were well-deserved.
Jeers to the customer who left their shopping cart right in the middle of two handicapped parking spots. It’s not that far to return the carts to the store.
Jeers to the hauling of water out of Rafferty Dam. Not only are water levels at their lowest levels in years, but those trucks are damaging the road and making it difficult to reach the boat launch.
Jeers to the motorists who continue to ignore the crosswalk on 13th Avenue. It’s not hard to stop for a few seconds and allow pedestrians to cross the street.
Jeers to the Estevan Motor Speedway for cancelling its program last week. Yes, they need to let out of town drivers know as soon as possible that there won’t be a race program. But they likely made the decision too soon.
Jeers to the number of heavy trucks that continue to drive down Perkins Street. Much of it is a residential area, and they should be routed onto another road.
