Cheers and Jeers for Nov. 10

Cheers: Cheers to those residents and business owners who head out to shovel and salt their sidewalks and parking lots. It is appreciated by people who are walking.

Cheers to those residents and business owners who head out to shovel and salt their sidewalks and parking lots. It is appreciated by people who are walking.

Cheers to Erin Wilson and the leisure services crew for the awesome Halloween scares at the Spooky Civic last week. So much effort was put into the transformation of the arena, and the attendees were so well behaved.

Cheers to the Estevan Art Gallery and Museum for organizing the fun Estevan Derby hobby horse night on the weekend.

Cheers to Estevan Lions Club for all of the work they did to host the 5SKS district convention. It’s a great way to show off the city.

Cheers to all of the schools for hosting Remembrance Day services this week. It’s important for children to know something about Canada’s military history.

Jeers:

Jeers to the issues caused by the closure of the Civic Auditorium. It’s going to be tough to have two arenas if the Civic is shut down for the rest of the season.

Jeers to people who shovel snow out onto the street. It’s against the law and these people should be ticketed.

Jeers to the lack of initial snow removal on the curves on King Street near Bannatyne Avenue. You couldn’t tell where the lines on the street were located.

Jeers to those who still don’t have winter tires on their vehicle. It’s been more than a week since the first snowfall; quit procrastinating and get the work done.

Jeers to those who don’t think it’s important to teach financial literacy to our young people. They need to know that information at an early age.
