Cheers to the Estevan Church of Christ for facilitating an excellent vacation Bible school last week. The children enjoyed it very much.

Cheers to the Estevan Lions Club for providing the Frisbee golf course at Torgeson Park. It’s a great way to spend an evening.

Cheers to A&W for the Cruisin’ for a Cause fundraiser for the MS Society, and to all those who supported it.

Cheers to the City of Estevan for organizing the Sunday Funday at Royal Heights Veterans’ Memorial Park. The kids had a great time with the water activities, and it was great to be able to support the Royal Canadian Legion.

Cheers to Southeast Newcomer Services for welcoming the community into its building for the potluck lunch last Thursday. The food was so good.

Jeers:

Jeers to the upcoming Living Skies Airshow being scheduled on the same day as the Enduro race at the Estevan Motor Speedway. Some people want to attend both events.

Jeers to those who complain about the school year starting after the Labour Day long weekend. This is the way it should be, and it’s easier for people to plan their holidays when the school year starts later.

Jeers to the people arrested for impaired driving last week. Despite the tougher measures in place, some people still don’t get the message.

Jeers to those who allow the grass and weeds on their properties to be overgrown. If they’re out of town, they still have to find someone (a neighbour kid, perhaps?) to cut the grass.

Jeers to party hosts who can’t keep the noise to a reasonable level, and who let their guests get out of hand. Maybe they shouldn’t host a party.
