Cheers:
Cheers to the Estevan Humane Society for bringing the Duck Derby to Estevan. It was a fun way to spend a couple of hours.
Cheers to the return of hockey season in the Estevan area. Hopefully the Power Dodge Estevan Bruins have a good season.
Cheers to the Prairie Winds Motorcycle Club for continuing to host the ride for Ronald McDonald House each year. The money goes to such a great cause.
Cheers to the organizers of the kayak and paddleboat night on the Souris River on Sunday. Always nice to have something different to do in Estevan.
Cheers to the farmers in southeast Saskatchewan who do such a great job of growing the crops that feed the world.
Jeers:
Jeers to business owners who park their light industry vehicles on residential streets, and take up valuable parking spots.
Jeers to the heavy truck driver who callously ran a red light at the intersection of Fourth Street and Kensington Avenue in the evening of Sept. 7. Dangerous driving actions like that put other people at risk.
Jeers to the motorist who was caught driving 100 kilometres per hour in a 60 zone last week. The fines for such driving actions should be much higher.
Jeers to these fire bans in the southeast region. It’s understandable why they are in place, but hopefully the rain we’re supposed to get will spell the end of the fire bans for this year.
Jeers the condition of some of the parking lots in the community. It makes it hard to access a business when there are potholes and other issues for vehicles.
