Cheers and Jeers for Sept. 2

Cheers: Cheers to the two gentlemen who stopped while on their motorbikes to help an elderly couple (including one person in a wheelchair) cross the street and onto the sidewalk by city hall.

Cheers:

Cheers to the two gentlemen who stopped while on their motorbikes to help an elderly couple (including one person in a wheelchair) cross the street and onto the sidewalk by city hall. Several people across the street witnessed this and commended them for what they did.

Cheers to the staff at St. Joseph's Hospital. If people happen to end up in the hospital, it is good to know the dedicated people there will provide great care.

Cheers to the St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation for organizing such a fun event with the Colour My Foundation colour run. Looking forward to next year already.

Cheers to the volunteers who came forward and helped install the new playground equipment at Westview School. The kids will love playing there.

Cheers to all of the talented singers, dancers and drummers who performed during the recent powwow at the Bear Claw Casino and Hotel.

Jeers:

Jeers to the people who decided that one staff member’s office is more important than everyone else. It really kills morale among the staff.

Jeers to the motorists who have been speeding while travelling down Wellock Road. It’s astounding that someone could drive 83 kilometres per hour in a playground zone, unless they’re driving an emergency vehicle.

Jeers to the two people who robbed a business in Oxbow on the weekend, and then decided to steal a couple of vehicles. Hopefully they get the punishment they deserve.

Jeers to the latest person who was nabbed for impaired driving in Estevan. It appears that some people still aren’t getting the message.

Jeers to those who haven’t been tidying up their properties this summer. We get it: it’s summer. There are things you’d rather be doing than yard work. But you still have a responsibility to keep your property looking good.
