Cheers and Jeers for Sept. 22

Cheers: Cheers to the gentleman who found a woman’s purse in a shopping cart at Walmart, and took it to the police station to be picked up by her. She is very grateful to get it back with nothing missing.

Cheers to the Tourism Estevan Facebook page for the #ExperienceEstevan campaign, for promoting events, sharing details and providing recaps.

Cheers to those drivers who respect wheelchair parking stalls. That's the least we can do as able bodied civilians. It would be nice if the police would monitor this illegal parking more often.

Cheers to the City of Estevan for all of the work they have put into adding new sidewalks to the city this summer.

Cheers to St. Giles Anglican Church for the wonderful job they do at the Power Dodge Estevan Bruins hockey games.

Jeers:

Jeers to the people in the city who do not keep their properties, along the alleys and walkways between streets, free of debris and trees. This makes driving tough and walking in the evenings dangerous.

Jeers to a vacuum truck for dumping its load into a ditch south of Estevan Motor Speedway.

Jeers to drivers who don’t slow down at all or check for cars or people at residential intersections. People have come close to being hit several times, both driving and walking, due to these inconsiderate drivers.

Jeers to the loud vehicles we’re still hearing on our streets during the evenings. This is something that has needed a crackdown for some time now.

Jeers to people in relationships who forget about their single friends.
