To the Editor:
Just a short note to congratulate the City of Weyburn for a great job hosting the Esso Cup this weekend.
As visitors to your city, our entire time there was a treat right from the friendly hospitality of the gals at Doris’s Place, to the warm welcome I received by the local Pickleball Club and as mentioned, the well-run tournament where the girls were treated like NHL stars!
The real cap on the weekend came from an unlikely source though! Heading to the bronze medal game just prior to game time, we found that we had a flat tire. Stopping in at Fountain Tire, we were told that they would fix the flat but we would have to wait our turn which would be in about one and a half hours.
Seeing the look of dismay on my face, owner Nathan (I think!) said “OK, bring it in,” and after about 20 minutes, the flat was fixed.
To add to his more than accommodating attitude, “Enjoy the Game” was his comment when I tried to pay! Weyburn, you are fortunate to have such wonderful citizens! Thank you.
