The Ottawa RedBlacks have won the 104th Grey Cup, upsetting the Calgary Stampeders 39-33 in overtime. Ottawa had control of the game in the first half with a 20-7 lead, but Calgary rallied in the second half. Ottawa’s defence forced three interceptions from the Calgary Stampeders. The last time that a team from Ottawa won the Grey Cup was back in 1976, when the Ottawa Rough Riders beat the Saskatchewan Roughriders 23-20.
In the NFL, the New England Patriots beat the New York Jets 22-17 in a one-sided game. The Pats record is 9-2 and their next game is against the Los Angeles Rams.
Other scores from week 12 were: the Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the Seattle Seahawks 14-5, the San Diego Chargers defeated the Houston Texans 21-13 and the Dallas Cowboys edged the Washington Redskins 31-26 on U.S. Thanksgiving.
In NCAA Football, the No. 15 Florida Gators lost to the No. 12 Florida State Seminoles 31-13 in a lopsided game. The Gators record is 8-3 and their next game is against the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide in the South Eastern Conference championship game.
Other scores from week 13 were: the Air Force Falcons got past the Boise State Broncos 27-20, the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes edged the No. 5 Michigan Wolverines 30-27 in double overtime, the No. 10 Southern California Trojans knocked off the Notre Dame Fighting Irish 45-27 and the No. 9 Colorado Buffalos beat the Utah Utes 27-22.
In the Western Hockey League, the Regina Pats split their games over the weekend. The Pats are in first place in the East Division.
As for the Ontario Hockey League, the Windsor Spitfires lost to the Kingston Frontenacs 3-2 in overtime. The Spitfires are in second place in the West Division.
