Riders receiver Naaman Roosevelt had six receptions for 67 yards and was named the offensive game star on for the third time. The Riders’ record is 1-4 and they now have a home-and-home with the Calgary Stampeders.

Other scores from Week 6 were: the Winnipeg Blue Bombers beat the Edmonton Eskimos 30-23, the Calgary Stampeders edged the B.C. Lions 44-41 in overtime and the Toronto Argonauts got past the Ottawa RedBlacks 23-20.

In the Arena Football League, the Philadelphia Soul beat the Orlando Predators 67-59 in a close game. The Soul finished the regular season with a 13-3 record and they will have the No. 1 seed in the playoffs. The Soul will face the Tampa Bay Storm in the opening round.

The other score from Week 18 saw the Jacksonville Sharks beat the Tampa Bay Storm 54-35.

NFL training camps are well underway, and the preseason action will kick off with the Green Bay Packers and the Indianapolis Colts in the Hall of Fame game on Aug. 7.

In the Western Major Baseball League, the Regina Red Sox lost their last two games of the regular season to finish with a 26-21 record. They have been playing the Yorkton Cardinals in the first round of the playoffs.

The Toronto Blue Jays took two of three games from the Baltimore Orioles over the weekend in Major League Baseball action. The Jays are in second place in the American League East Division.

In Major League Soccer, Toronto FC beat the Columbus Crew 3-0 in a one-sided game. Toronto’s record is 8-7-6 and they are in third place in the Eastern Conference. Their next game is against the New England Revolution.
