Roughriders hammer the Argonauts

The Saskatchewan Roughriders hammered the Toronto Argonauts 29-11 in a lopsided game. The Riders had control of the game from start to finish. Riders quarterback Darian Durant attempted 22 passes while completing 15 for 164 yards and two touchdowns.

Other scores from Week 17 were: the Calgary Stampeders beat the Montreal Alouettes 22-8, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers got past the B.C Lions 35-32 and the Ottawa RedBlacks edged the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 30-29.

In the NFL, the New England Patriots beat the Cincinnati Bengals 35-17 in a convincing victory. The Pats’ record is 5-1 and their next game is against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Other scores from Week 6 were: the Houston Texans got past Indianapolis Colts 26-23 in overtime, the Dallas Cowboys beat the Green Bay Packers 30-16, and the Seattle Seahawks beat the Atlanta Falcons 26-24.

In NCAA Football, the No.15 Florida Gators got past the Vanderbilt Commodores 13-6 in a defensive game. The Gators’ record is 5-1 overall and 3-1 in conference play.

Other scores from Week 7 were: the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes beat the No.10 Wisconsin Badgers 30-23 in overtime, the No.19 Utah Utes beat the Oregon State Beavers 19-14 and the No. 14 Boise State Broncos beat the Colorado State Rams 28-23.

In NCAA Division 1AA Football, the North Dakota State Bison lost to the South Dakota State Jackrabbits 19-17. The Bison’s record is 5-1 overall and 2-1 in conference play.

In the Western Hockey League, the Regina Pats won both of their games over the weekend, defeating the Kootenay Ice and the Lethbridge Hurricanes. The Pats are in a tie for first place in the East Division.
