Dear Mayor Roy:
The Southeast Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (SE SASW) supports inclusing and diversity in the community. We recognize the community of Weyburn has a long history of upholding these values.
We encourage the Weyburn city council to reconsider their decision to reject the application for development of a residential care home at 137 DeLaet Drive.
As outlined in the Social Work Code of Ethics, it is crucial as a community we advocate for the inherent dignity of all people.
We should not discriminate against any person. We have a duty to safeguard the rights and interests of those who are vulnerable or unable to advocate for themselves.
Natalie Bieberdorf, President, SE SASW
