There will be two bands entertaining the crowds at Reunion 2016.
March Hare Band, who has played all over North America, is complimented very well by local Weyburn band Switch.
This is a very unique band headlining the event. March Hare is a band made up of experienced exceptional musicians Dan Hare, lead guitar and vocals; Jenny Moase, lead vocals; Ian Paxton and Andy Smyth. Each of these musicians have headed their own bands in the past. Their ability to imitate numerous musicians from the past to the present sets them apart from any other cover band. For an event like Reunion 2016, where there will be people who listened to music from the 50s to present day, March Hare is the perfect band.
Their tributes to people from Chuck Berry, Dolly Parton and Johnny Cash to Cher, CCR, ZZTop, AC/DC and Lady Gaga keep all ages entertained. They don’t only sound like them, but also look like them. They were the house band for seven years at the Merritt Mountain Music Festival and have opened for Tim McGraw, Big and Rich, Lonestar, and many others. They have played for both the Men’s and Women’s World Curling Championships.
March Hare have played together for many years, so have developed a chemistry, confidence and appeal that can’t be achieved in any other way which means they aren’t staring at music stands trying to get through the songs. With March Hare there are no iPads, music stands or mic stands that create barriers.
March Hare knows their lyrics and uses headset mics for maximum mobility and connection with the audience. There are no auto tune mics or background recordings with this group.
Switch is a local band who has been together for seven years. They play the “New Classic Rock” which is mainstream 90’s alternative rock and pop. They also cover some of the older classic rock that we all know. They are a five-piece band with all but one hailing from Weyburn: Craig Davies, vocals; Ernie Parisien, lead guitar; Pierre Parise, rhythm guitar; Shaun Guest, bass and Jason Hill, drums. Shaun is new to the band, but born and raised in Weyburn.
