It has not been the best of times for Estevan as of late.

To our readers, advertisers, sponsors and community members: I write this column to let you know that we here at the Assiniboia Times are recognizing the significant challenges the current COVID-19 pandemic is creating for many of you.

It would be hard to find someone in Canada who hasn’t been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Some have been diagnosed with the disease or know someone who has been diagnosed. (Of course, we have yet to have our first official case in Estevan).

After weeks of speculation, Saskatchewan was hit last week by the COVID-19 virus, with our first confirmed and presumed cases. But the impact extended beyond those who have been diagnosed with or tested for the disease.
