WEYBURN – A surge in barking dog complaints has prompted the Weyburn Police Service to issue a public reminder to pet owners about their responsibilities under the city’s noise bylaw.
Throughout the past week, officers responded to numerous reports of excessive barking disrupting neighbourhoods. Police say while occasional barking is expected, prolonged or frequent noise can become a nuisance and enforcement action may follow.
“The excuse of ‘dogs bark’ will not suffice,” said Weyburn police in a statement on Sept. 2. “Please respect your neighbours. Failure to do so may result in a ticket being issued.”
