WEYBURN – With students set to return to classrooms next week, the Weyburn Police Service (WPS) is putting the community on notice that the King Street construction zone is an active worksite, not a shortcut, and trespassing will be met with strict enforcement.

“Tampering with the work zone will not only put crews at risk, but will also cause project delays that affect the entire community,” said the Weyburn Police Service in a media release.

WPS said safety in the area is their highest priority.

Anyone found inside the work zone will be subject to enforcement, including tickets for trespassing.

WPS shared the following information from the South East Cornerstone Public School Division:

  • Parent pick-up and drop-off will take place on the south side of the school on Second Ave NW. There will be no parking in this area it is a drop-off / pick-up only zone (green zone).
  • The southeast parking lot entrance off Second Ave NW is reserved for Early Learning Centre, College and WCS staff only. Parents are not permitted to use these lots (pink zone).
  • The west Eagle parking lot will remain open for student and staff parking.
