WEYBURN – The city of Weyburn has experienced a notable decline in crime over the past year, according to the latest Crime Severity Index (CSI) data.
In 2023, Weyburn’s overall CSI stood at 88.06, but by 2024, it had fallen to 66.08, a substantial decrease of 24.96 per cent.
Violent crime saw the most dramatic reduction, falling from 83.15 in 2023 to just 45.11 in 2024. A staging 45.75 per cent decline.
Non-violent offences also decreased, though less sharply. The non-violent CSI dropped from 90.77 in 2023 to 75.03 in 2024, marking a 17.34 per cent reduction.
