Weyburn Review

Two local men will be competing at the Canadian Cowboy Association (CCA) Finals Rodeo being held in Regina during the Canadian Western Agribition from November 22 to 27.

Weyburn RCMP Traffic Services has begun to participate in Operation Overdrive, a Saskatchewan Government Insurance(SGI) program that focuses on impaired drivers. Local RCMP have already made one serious arrest as a result of the SGI initiative.

Competitive members of the Weyburn Synchro Stars attended their first competition and development camp at the Shaw Center in Saskatoon on November 13 and 14, receiving many team successes.

The Southeast Regional College is preparing for renovations to their campus in Weyburn, and whether they like it or not, plans to keep them a part of the high school, rather than a standalone facility, are underway.

The Weyburn Comprehensive School senior girl's volleyball team earned gold medals at the "5A" Provincial Championships in North Battleford on November 19 and 20.

The Weyburn Comprehensive School will be holding their annual Fowl Supper on Tuesday, November 30.

Midale's annual Remembrance Day service held in the 39ers club room was very well attended. Comrade John New from the Royal Canadian Legion No. 60, Estevan, had organized the event with Capt. Ken Turner leading the prayers.

Artists are being called to enter the 2011 James Weir Peoples' Choice Award. The art exhibition will mark the 28th annual James Weir exhibition for artists in Weyburn and the surrounding area.
