Weyburn Review

The Southeast Regional College is preparing for renovations to their campus in Weyburn, and whether they like it or not, plans to keep them a part of the high school, rather than a standalone facility, are underway.

The Weyburn Comprehensive School senior girl's volleyball team earned gold medals at the "5A" Provincial Championships in North Battleford on November 19 and 20.

The Weyburn Comprehensive School will be holding their annual Fowl Supper on Tuesday, November 30.

Midale's annual Remembrance Day service held in the 39ers club room was very well attended. Comrade John New from the Royal Canadian Legion No. 60, Estevan, had organized the event with Capt. Ken Turner leading the prayers.

Artists are being called to enter the 2011 James Weir Peoples' Choice Award. The art exhibition will mark the 28th annual James Weir exhibition for artists in Weyburn and the surrounding area.

Capt. Mike Mailman holds one of the jars for the new "Cash for our Community" project as the Salvation Army kicked off its annual kettle campaign on Friday at the Canadian Tire store.

There is a need in the southeast area of the province, but unfortunately it seems the province feels it's more of a "want" than a need.

The competitive members of the Weyburn Synchro Stars attended their first competition and development camp at Saskatoon on Nov. 13 and 14.

The Southeast Cornerstone School Division board of education received an update from their transportation department from Larry Ursu, manager of transportation and fleet services, during their monthly education board meeting on Thursday.
