More than 70 per cent of Saskatchewan residents age 40 and older have received their first shot of COVID-19 vaccine, surpassing the threshold for Step One of the Re-Opening Roadmap.

There are 177 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on May 9, bringing the provincial total to 43,141 cases. There are no new COVID cases in the Weyburn area, with 39 active cases currently, and 221 active cases in the southeast region.

The month of May has been proclaimed by Dustin Duncan, Minister of Education, as CAA School Safety Patrol Month in Saskatchewan.

An additional 13,042 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 504,482.
