GULL LAKE — A fun summer event has come to the town of Gull Lake in the form of an escape room.
This popular game involves players discovering clues and solving puzzles to move on to the next area, all within a limited time. The ultimate goal, of course, is to "escape" the game site.
The Town of Gull Lake is hosting this summer event from Monday, July 21, to Friday, July 25, on limited dates.
According to Alexa Kobley, a summer student in tourism, "A couple of years ago, we had an escape room that was really popular, so we decided to try it again."
Kobley, along with other staff, is busy preparing for the event and is considering the Gull Lake Museum and Visitor Centre as potential venues, with the "school house" being a great option.
As with most escape rooms, the duration can vary depending on how quickly participants figure everything out. Kobley estimates that this fun-filled indoor event will take approximately 30-45 minutes to complete.
While this is a family-friendly event, the age group it caters to leans more towards teenagers and adults, who are better suited to understanding the escape room puzzles. For those who may find the puzzles challenging, Kobley offers a tip: "Sometimes, the more obvious answers are the right ones."
