The Melville Millionaires AA Bantam Millionaires last three games have had three different results.
Last Monday, the South Saskatchewan Minor Hockey League club hooked up with the Regina Oilers in a road tilt and managed a 3-3 tie.
"We battled really hard but their goalie really kept them in," explains Bantam coach Gary Kreklewich.
Skyler Reeve scored twice to pace the Melville attack with Evan Armstrong chipping in with a single as Melville led 2-1 after the opening period. The teams knotted at 2-2 after the game's second stanza. Rykr Cole, Donovan Neuls, Jaden Kreklewich and
Tyler Kreklewich each had an assist with Benji Taypotat between the pipes for the Mils. Regina took 10 of 17 minors called in the contest.
The Bantams took advantage of some powerplay opportunities to hand the Moose Jaw Warriors a 12-3 loss in Melville last Sunday.
"They fell apart and we took advantage of it," says the Bantam Mils coach. "It was a great game from our team. We stayed disciplined and they kept running to the box."
The visiting Warriors took 11 minor penalties to go along with five 10-minute misconducts as the Millionaires were assessed only six minors and one misconduct.
Neuls had a breakout game for the Bantam Mils, scoring three times and adding a pair of helpers and Ethan Bear lit the lamp twice and tallied four assists in the one-sided contest.
Cole scored twice and added an assist and Jaden Kreklewich potted a pair and added three assists to help the Melville cause.
Dylen Bear, Koal Roberts and Tyler Kreklewich all had a single marker for the Melville squad as the teams were tied 3-3 after the first period. Melville took an 8-3 lead after two.
It was a case of too little, too late for the Bantam Millionaires last Saturday, as they dropped a 5-4 decision on home ice to the Regina Hurricanes.
"We just came out flat and couldn't recover," offers coach Kreklewich.
The Millionaires were slow out of the gate and it cost them as they trailed 2-0 after the opening stanza and 4-1 after 40 minutes of play.
Skyler Reeve led the way for the Millionaires offensively, blinking the light once and adding a pair of assists while Rykr Cole and Tyler Kreklewich each chipped in with a pair of helpers.
