Two Yorkton businesses are the recipients of a prestigious provincial award.
The Yorkton Chamber of Commerce has announced Terry Ortynsky's Royal Ford and Yorkton Plumbing have been named recipients of the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce ABEX Awards. The Awards were presented this past weekend during a Gala dinner in Saskatoon.
Justin Yawney owner of Yorkton Plumbing & Heating was one of five finalists in the Young Entrepreneur of the Year category. Yawney started Yorkton Plumbing & Heating in 2007 and in the past four years has grown the company from a staff of one to twenty five, expanding his fleet of one vehicle to fifteen. Not only does he provide service to the residential community, he has expanded in the commercial and industrial field, which has proved to be very rewarding. The Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award was sponsored by Cameco.
Terry Ortynsky's Royal Ford was also one of five finalists in the Service Award category. Ortynsky's Royal Ford focuses on developing a personal relationship with each customer making the car-buying experience helpful, professional and pleasant. Their main objective has always been to provide the best service possible, to sell vehicles at a fair price and to treat people with respect and honesty. Terry and his team developed one overriding goal which would enable them to deliver a great sales and service experience by making it easy. The Award was sponsored by Handy Special Events.
The ABEX Awards are presented annually by the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce. The competition was established in 1984 to recognize excellence in Saskatchewan business.
