Ski in the dark? Are you serious? Yes we Are.

Are you one of those cross country skiers who has contemplated a night ski?

Alternatively, would you like to TRY cross country skiing and attempt that ski at night? If the answer to either question is "yes" you just might want to spend the evening of Saturday, February 16 as a participant in The Good Spirit Cross Country's 3rd Annual Lamplighter Loppet.

Our loppet is the only night loppet held in Canada. Here is your chance to participate in a unique event right at your back door - or should we say - right on your back trails.

There are a few prerequisites to your participation. Because our club is providing snacks and entertainment, we certainly want you to pre-register prior to Feb. 10. We want to have sufficient supplies to treat you right! You can obtain necessary forms and more information, including directions, by going to the ski club's website at www.goodspiritski.blogspot.ca or by contacting the club's Loppet Coordinator, Anne Stupak, at 1-306-783- 6617 or 621-8926 (Anne resides in Yorkton).

To be part of our event you MUST sign-in at The Recreation Hall at Good Spirit Provincial Park prior to the mass start at 6:30 p.m. Participants must be OFF the trails by 10:00 p.m. You MUST have a headlamp.

Pre-registering and sign-in are necessary "housekeeping" tasks. Consider more pleasant aspects. You will be warmly welcomed at both The Recreation Hall and at The Ski Shelter. You will meet new people. You will have an opportunity to make new friends - friends who share your love of skiing. Fresh air and exercise will be yours for the taking. Most importantly you will smile and laugh.

The cost is $25.00/person or $65.00 if you make it a family activity. If you are not a member of the club, consider taking a membership prior to entering The Lamplighter Loppet, as members-in-good-standing enjoy discounted rates.
