Thousands are expected to raise over $1 million this year to turn wishes into reality.

The 2013 edition of Wishmaker Walk for Wishes is coming this fall. Participants from across the country are expected to raise over $1 Million in pledges in support of The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada.

"Wishmaker Walk for Wishes is one of the most important events on our calendar," comments Gay Oldhaver, Saskatchewan Chapter Director. "It is an opportunity for people of all walks of life to gather and help to turn the wish of a child with a life threatening illness into reality."

This fall, thousands of people will walk together to raise funds for Children's Wish in locations in every province. The Saskatchewan Chapter of Children's Wish is pleased to announce Wishmaker Walk for Wishes locations across the province, including Esterhazy on October 5 at the SN Boreen Community Centre.

Wishmaker Walk for Wishes is the largest and single most important fundraising event for The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada and its success ensures the Foundation's continued tradition of never refusing an eligible child a wish. Participants or "Wishmakers" make an important contribution by collecting pledges prior to walk day and walking the route in their area.

Participants or "Wishmakers" who raise more than $100 have the opportunity to earn rewards, including a chance to win a trip for four to Florida or a Sun destination, courtesy of Air Transat and Marlin Travel.

Each year, thousands of Canadian children between the ages of three and 17 are diagnosed with a life threatening illness. Since 1984, The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada workes to grant exceptional wishes to over 19,000 children and their families.

This year, the Foundation expects to grant over 1,000 new wishes and is proud to have never refused a wish to an eligible child, and with the help of volunteers and generous donors, is able to grant nearly three wishes every day. Each wish is an individual adventure, carefully structured to meet the needs of a particular child and family. The Foundation is a national charity with chapters in every province and territory.
