Terrier centre Jeremy Boyer played an outstanding game for the Terriers Saturday night, scoring a goal and earning an assist and never letting up in the game to receive the first game star nod.

Having an extended layoff, it was good to get back into a game, Boyer comments.

He admits the team was a very excited as well as a little nervous coming into the game but used those nerves to their advantage.

Boyer describes the opening goal of the game. He saw an opponent step up and hesitate between going to Struble and himself. Struble kept going wide, so Boyer says he went hard for the net. Struble made a great pass to lay the puck onto Boyer's stick. "I didn't really need to move my stick lor anything. It just went off my stick and in," he recalls.

During the layoff, Boyer says, it was important to get lost of rest, eat well and stay in shape. "You have to take care of yourself off the ice and everyone did a good job of that," he suggests.

Boyer admits Bruin's goalie Shea Cooper made some great saves in the first period and throughout the game. "He definitely helped them out in the first period," Boyer states.

He admits he misses his teammate Justin Buzzeo but he just has to keep going, he says. "You have to keep everything a little simpler like throwing pucks deep and grinding it out," he explains.

Boyer credits Terrier coach Trent Cassan with keeping everyone on task despite the injuries. "Trent does a good job of making sure everyone plays the same and competes. If you're the harder working team, you're going to win most of the games in this league," he elaborates.

He believes if the Terriers come out hard Monday night in Estevan's smaller rink, shooting every chance they get, they should come out on top. "Pucks are going to go in, in that rink, lot of shots and a lot of bodies. Our big guys are going to have to step up in that rink. That's where they'll have the advantage," Boyer predicts.
