Caviar tastes, inexcusable attitude

If you expect the royal treatment and a five star dining experience then spare the rest of us - hire a chef or go somewhere else. I made my usual morning stop at a local coffee shop enroute to work this morning.

If you expect the royal treatment and a five star dining experience then spare the rest of us - hire a chef or go somewhere else.

I made my usual morning stop at a local coffee shop enroute to work this morning. There was a bit of a line up but no big deal, for the most part you go there expecting to wait at least a little bit. Welcome to the fast food industry. It's a few minutes where you make idle chit chat with the people in line, say hello to the people you know and get your game face on for work. If you're in that big of a hurry, make alternative plans. With that said, I've seen a few people get a little upset standing in line. I myself have gotten a little impatient at times but if it's all more than I can take I'd rather leave than make a scene. Not the gal in front of me this morning.

"Oh my god," she kept saying, rolling her eyes behind her fancy designer sun glasses, dyed blond hair piled high atop her head. "They really need to hire more staff. This is ridiculous..." she kept on and on as she adjusted her Lou Lou Lemon pants and shot glaring looks at the staff, all the while her husband standing beside her appearing as though he'd prefer to be anywhere but there. Can't say that I blame him.

When she finally did reach the till... which had to take all of four minutes, was she happy? Oh no, she had to share her miserable outlook with the poor gal behind the cash register. If there's one thing I can't stand it's somebody who thinks they're better than somebody else. Is it because she has money she thinks she can speak in a condescending tone and make demands. Rude from the get go, she belittled, demanded things that were not on the menu and went ballistic when her order came out wrong. "I'm am NOT eating this," she exclaimed, tossing her sandwich back at the worker behind the counter and then adding in a few choice words. My heart went out to the three staff members who scrambled behind the counter trying to make her happy. They were doing their best and as far I'm concerned nobody gets paid enough to put up with an attitude like that.

What makes this woman thinks she's so special that she deserves the "royal treatment?" Everybody likes good service when they go out but this was plain and simple embarrassing behaviour and the sad part is, she'll likely never realize it.

There's one golden rule in life - "treat others as you'd like to be treated" and I can't for even one moment, imagine this woman putting up with someone as rude and self-centered as herself.
