Explore the Yorkton WDM (Western Development Museum) for FREE September 29, 2012 as part of the national Culture Days celebration.
Learn the love story behind the two carved figures sitting proudly in the Winning the Prairie Gamble exhibit. Watch films from Yorkton Film Festival. Explore a real log home, moved into the WDM in 2003 and restored.
The focus this year will be on recognizing new Canadians and extending a special welcome to the many recent immigrants in our area to visit the Museum. Special guests from the Yorkton Newcomer Welcome Centre (a service of Partners in Settlement & Integration) will be in attendance to provide general information on the many settlement services they offer for those who have recently come to east central Saskatchewan. They also will be promoting the events hosted through their office, including the upcoming "Festival of Cultures" in November.
Culture Days takes place from noon to 5 p.m. All are welcome!
