Tuesday was World No Tobacco Day and in light of that fact the province reinforced its commitment to reduce tobacco use in the province.
"World No Tobacco Day provides us with an opportunity to reflect on the current tobacco reduction efforts across Saskatchewan, celebrate the progress with our partners and set future direction," Health Minister Don McMorris says. "We remain committed to reducing tobacco use in this province and will continue to work with our partners to achieve this goal."
The Ministry of Health has been working in collaboration with stakeholders to advance the goals of Building a Healthier Saskatchewan-A strategy to reduce tobacco use including cessation, prevention and protection. Cessation training has been provided to professionals from a variety of disciplines to assist people in their efforts to quit using tobacco.
