CHAC seeks new members

If you've got an interest in health, the Sunrise Health Region (SHR) would like to hear from you. The SHR is encouraging applications for new members of the Community Health Advisory Committees (CHACs).

The SHR is encouraging applications for new members of the Community Health Advisory Committees (CHACs). Applications are being accepted until September 15, 2011.

The Community Health Advisory Committees provide a forum for community leaders to take part in interactive sessions at least three times a year. Their input will help inspire the future strategic direction of health care; travel costs for meetings are compensated and participation is voluntary. Applicants who represent the population served by the health region including diversity of interests, ages, gender, ethnicity and geographic backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Approximately 30 members on each of three CHAC committees are being recruited fromgeographical areas in the region:

Area 1: Foam Lake, Invermay, Canora, Kamsack, Norquay, Preeceville and area including:

RMs: 334, 333, 331, 305, 304, 303, 301, 276, 275, 273, 271

Area 2: Theodore, Saltcoats, Yorkton and area including:

RMs: 245, 244, 243, 241, 213 (north)

Area 3: Ituna, Melville, Langenburg, Esterhazy and area including:

RMs: 246, 216, 215, 214, 213 (south), 211, 185, 184, 183, 181, 152

CHAC membership applications will be reviewed at the October, 2011 meeting of the Sunrise Regional Health Authority Board of Directors.
