This Saturday, May 28 will mark the 14th Annual Brayden Ottenbreit Close Cuts for Cancer Headshaving event. At 10 a.m. at the Parkland Mall in Yorkton many men, women and children will step forward to lose their locks in support of cancer research through the Canadian Cancer Society.
"While this event will always be about Brayden's memory for our family, it is bittersweet to have new participants come forward each year because someone they love has also been affected with this awful disease," comments co-founder Leone Ottenbreit. "We have been led to take our pain and make it someone else's gain in leading this cause each year hoping for, if not a cure, than to make this world a place where no one has to fear cancer."
Ottenbreit is inviting local residents to get involved in support of the cause.
"Please join us in this quest and donate online by visiting my personal page at http://convio.cancer.ca/goto/leoneottenbreit or by pledging our team or another participant at our event page at http://convio.cancer.ca/goto/closecuts2011.
"If you have already pledged another participant - or are participating yourself - my sincere thanks goes to you for your support!"
