If you've got something to say about the design of a new hospital in the region, the Sunrise Health Region (SHR) would like to hear what you have to say.
The SHR is currently seeking ideas from the public about how future health care facilities should function.
A special website will go live on September 20 and community meetings are being held on September 19 at Canora Rainbow Hall and on September 20 at the Gallagher Centre in Yorkton.
Both meetings will start at 7:30 p.m. The meetings are open to anyone who is interested in sharing their ideas and learning about the conceptual planning currently underway for health facilities in Canora and Yorkton.
The health region is looking for thoughts from the public about what works well and what would make future health facilities more accessible, comfortable and supportive.
Those unable to attend the community meetings can contribute ideas and may learn about the progress of the conceptual plans by clicking on the "Conceptual Plan" link on the health region website www.sunrisehealthregion.sk.ca, after September 20.
The website will include an on-line survey, where the public can ask questions on the website discussion forum. A paper copy of the survey form will be available after September 20th at main reception desks in Canora at the hospital and nursing home, and in Yorkton at the regional health centre, mental health centre, public health, and home care offices.
In addition to the community meetings the design firm, Cannon Design, has invited several groups of former patients, clients and health care employees to participate in separate focus group sessions.
