Cornerstone raceway season winds up

The standard bred harness racing season wrapped up with the final race meet of the year Saturday afternoon at the Cornerstone Raceway with a nine race card.

TOP TRAINER AND DRIVER at the cornerstone Raceway, Tyler Redwood had the most wins both as trainer and driver during the current season.

The standard bred harness racing season wrapped up with the final race meet of the year Saturday afternoon at the Cornerstone Raceway with a nine race card.

After the dust settled following the last race of the year, Tyler Redwood emerged as both top driver and top trainer.

As top driver Redwood claimed 25 first place finishes, 14 seconds and 12 thirds in 95 starts. He was also the top money earner of the current season. Second place went to Blake Piwniuk who finished first 22 times, second 17 times and third 14 times in 76 starts.

Richard Remillard came in third with 19 wins, 15 seconds and seven thirds in 75 starts.

As top trainer Redwood had 27 wins, 17 second and 18 third place finishes in 114 starts. He finished second overall in money won by a trainer.

Shawn Worthen, who claimed top earnings as a trainer, was second with 26 wins, 24 seconds and 15 third place finishes in 111 starts.

Number three spot went to Elaine Bell of MacNutt who had 15 first,18 seconds and 18 thirds in 96 starts.

The leading owner at the Cornerstone Raceway was Bll Welcher of Roblin who claimed 11 wins, eight second place finishes and five third place finishes in 32 starts. Welcher was also top money winner as an owner.

Annabelle Pirie of Strathclair was second with nine wins, three seconds and two thirds in 216 starts.

Jerry A. Hagenaars of Hafford was third with five wins, five seconds and three third place finishes in 17 starts.
