2013 SASKATCHEWAN MIXED TEAM CHAMPIONS Kathy Ziglo and Ian Larocque defended their provincial crown at Deer Park with a -7.

With sweltering heat giving the province high temperatures, the competition at Deer Park Golf Course also heated up as the course hosted Saskatchewan's mixed doubles golf championship over the weekend.

Over 50 pairs of Saskatchewan golfers flocked to Yorkton for the 2013 Mixed Doubles final, but despite a large field it would be a familiar duo that would take on all comers to earn the 2013 crown.

Defending champions Kathy Ziglo and Ian Larocque had two impressive days at Deer Park as the champions came back to the provincial stage for another year and have repeated at the Saskatchewan Mixed Team Champions winning the 2013 event in Yorkton.

The Saskatoon twosome fired an impressive opening round 68 on Saturday to set the pace for the rest of the field with a staggeringly low score. With a 68 in the bag after the opening round the defending champions took that and capped off the weekend with a 3-under par 69 on Sunday to win the event by nine strokes. Shooting under par for the entire tournament the duo earned themselves a score of -7 over the two rounds.

Judy and Carmen Giblett (*146, second after retrogression) took home the silver medal while Tanner and Breanna White (*146, third after retrogression) took home the bronze.

Golf Saskatchewan would like to thank Deer Park for hosting the 2013 tournament as well as congratulate all those who participated in the event.
