The Deer Park Ladies Open took place on August 8, with 66 ladies challenging the course and each other for a day of fine golf.

Tournament co-chair Wendy Boyle says that the day went well for the participants, as the weather held at Deer Park even if only a few miles away the rain began to pour.

"We had a wonderful day, we were very, very lucky that the weather held, because it makes it unbearable to be out there in the wet," Boyle notes.

She admits the field is a bit small this year, but she suspects that wet weather in the area has caused many participants to prioritize other things above golf.

"We're looking forward to next year, and having a bigger field again," Boyle saya.

The day overall went very well, and she says it was the ideal time for the tournament, and the course gave participants the chance to play their best.

"The course is playing beautifully, kudos to our greens crew and our pro shop."

The results for the tournament are as follows:

Champ - Marcy Johnson, Fort Qu'Appelle.

1st Flight - Anita Ford, Regina.

2nd Flight - Jackie Jones, Russell, MB.

3rd Flight - Marlene Taylor, Regina.

4th Flight - Maureen Sundquist, Regina.

5th Flight - Arlene Nussbaumer, Yorkton.
