The annual Deer Park Men's Open saw 66 golfers take to the course over the weekend to challenge the course and each other.
There were eight flites in the competition, says organizer Cliff Trombley, which allowed for all skill levels to take part. He emphasizes that the weekend wasn't all serious, and the goal was for everyone to have a good time over the weekend.
"It was a lot of fun, and there was four prizes in each flite, so half of the people come out with a prize."
While there were some clouds hanging over the proceedings in a literal sense, Trombley notes that they were lucky, and there was only a slight delay for weather on the second day. Otherwise it was a good weekend for golf.
Trombley admits that some of the regulars of the tournament were unable to attend this year due to other commitments, but he says that the tournament was very successful in raising funds to keep up with maintenance of the course.
