Deer Park to host 101st Sask. Amateur Men's Championship

Golf Saskatchewan announced that the Deer Park Municipal Golf Course in Yorkton will host the 101st edition of the Saskatchewan Amateur Men's Championship in 2012.

Golf Saskatchewan announced that the Deer Park Municipal Golf Course in Yorkton will host the 101st edition of the Saskatchewan Amateur Men's Championship in 2012.

The 2012 Saskatchewan Amateur Men's Championship will take place Tuesday, July 17 to Friday, July 20 and will feature the top male amateur golfers in the province.

Information on registering for the tournament, participating as a volunteer during the tournament week, and sponsor opportunities will be available at www.golfsaskatchewan.org.

"We are looking forward to the tournament returning once again to Yorkton next summer," said Deer Park Municipal Golf Course Head Pro Allan Sauser. "With over 100 years to its history it is exciting to host such a tournament at Deer Park."

"The players are in for a treat next summer with the tournament returning to Deer Park," said Golf Saskatchewan Manager of Tournaments and Player Services Dan Ukrainetz. "Yorkton has a strong history of hosting great tournaments and we look forward to working with the host club on putting on a fantastic event."

This will be the second time the Deer Park Municipal Golf Course will host the Saskatchewan Amateur Men's Championship. The course has hosted 24 Golf Saskatchewan (Saskatchewan Golf Association) events over the years.
