As of October 1, Discovery Motorsports has taken over Ochs Motorsports, and it's making some big changes. Evan Labas, General Manager, says that he is excited to start serving the region, and that the business will see some changes to more effectively meet everyone's needs.

The store is currently undergoing extensive renovations over the month of October, and the interior will be almost unrecognizable once everything is complete. One of the big changes will be an expanded parts department, which will be double the size of what it was before. The store will also have a new 6,000 sq. ft. showroom, which will have year-round shopping for various different sports vehicles, whether they are boats, ATVs, side-by-sides or snowmobiles, adjusting for the season. The renovations are expected to be completed on November 1, and the new showroom will open in the early part of the month.

"No matter what the season is, we'll have the opportunity to have something under roof," Labas says.

The store is now part of the Discovery Group, which has been serving Humboldt and area for many years. This will be the first expansion outside of that city, and Labas says that the opportunity to take over the dealership was too good to pass up. He notes that the leisure industry in Yorkton was something which he wanted to become a part of, with a healthy snowmobile and ATV community, as well as the chance to sell a full line of Tracker boats, making the business an attractive proposition.

"I'm real advocate of this industry, I've ridden snowmobiles and ATVs since I was a wee little lad. The opportunity to purchase this place came up and to me it was heaven."

While the building is going to be changed, some things will remain the same. He says that the store has a great staff which he hopes will continue to be a part of the business, and he invites customers old and new to come by and see what's changing and what they have to offer. Labas notes that the business is on the snowmobile trail, and that he welcomes everyone in, no matter what they ride.

"We will definitely take care of our customers," Labas concludes.
