On July 31 at 7:15 p.m. Yorkton RCMP, Fire Department and Crestview Ambulance were called to a collision involving a cyclist at Gladstone Avenue and Highway 16-A.
Yuten Ironstand, a 14 year old male cyclist had been struck by a vehicle, and suffered life threatening injuries. EMS treated and transported the young man to Yorkton Hospital, however he was declared deceased at the hospital.
A collision analyst from Broadview Traffic Services attended and conducted a scene examination. Yorkton RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of the Provincial Coroners Office. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the collision.
The investigation is ongoing and the name of the driver will not be released.
