Film Festival tour announced

Every May, Yorkton hosts the longest-running film festival in North America, bringing the best of Canadian short film to the prairies. But year-round, audiences everywhere have the opportunity to view some of the best submissions from the festival.

Every May, Yorkton hosts the longest-running film festival in North America, bringing the best of Canadian short film to the prairies. But year-round, audiences everywhere have the opportunity to view some of the best submissions from the festival.

Now available is the 2010 collection of the Golden Sheaf Awards DVD Tour. Over 30 films have been selected by the festival staff to be included on the nine different tours. Each tour is centered around a theme, designed to cater to different age groups and interests. 2010's themes are:

General GSA Tour; Children's GSA Tour; Senior's GSA Tour; Aboriginal GSA Tour - sponsored by the Painted Hand Casino's Comm-unity Development Corp-oration; Multicultural GSA Tour - sponsored by the Multicultural Council of Saskatchewan Arts & Culture; GSA Tour; Nature & Environment GSA Tour; Parks GSA Tour; and the Youth Safety GSA Tour - sponsored by SGI's Acquired Brain Injury Partnership Project.

The DVD tour is simply a dvd that is mailed to any cultural group, club, library, or school free of charge - minus the cost of mailing the dvd back to the festival. Tours can be booked through the festival - booking forms are available at: www.goldensheafawards.com under year round Awards Tour.
