The Yorkton Film Festival has announced it is accepting submissions until the deadline of January 31, 2013 at which time the adjudication process will begin. Nominees will be announced in two rounds during March and April; and the winners of the Golden Sheaf Awards will be announced at the Yorkton Film Festival Gala on May 25, 2013 in Yorkton.
Registration is $80 for regular entrants and $40 for students until December 15, 2012; after that time the price will increase to $95.00. Entrants can register at www.goldensheafawards.com.
The 2013 Yorkton Film Festival will take place May 23 to May 26, 2013. The event will include professional development workshops and panels featuring industry leaders, film screenings, the trademark Lobsterfest, and the Golden Sheaf Awards gala ceremony. This year's festival includes 20 main film categories, ranging from Animation to Student Production. The festival is also proud that its Digital Media category and revised Short Subject, formerly Documentary Short Subject, category will be returning for their second year. In addition our 20 category awards, a submitted film may also qualify for one of our special awards: the Ruth Shaw Best of Saskatchewan, Emerging Film-maker and Aboriginal awards.
